Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 tea bags (use tea of choice)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Juices and Additional Liquids

  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 2 pints cranberry juice cocktail (4 cups)
  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed blood orange juice (or regular orange juice)
  • 2/3 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice

Garnish (Optional)

  • Orange slices
  • Whole cloves
  • Cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  1. Make the Sweet Tea Base: Place the granulated sugar and 2 cups of water into a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely. Once boiling and sugar is dissolved, remove from heat.
  2. Steep the Tea: Add the tea bags to the hot sugar syrup. Allow to steep for 5 minutes for a strong infusion, then remove and discard the tea bags.
  3. Add Spices: Stir in ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg into the brewed tea mixture until well combined.
  4. Combine the Drink: In a large pitcher, pour in the remaining 2 1/2 cups of water, brewed tea mixture, cranberry juice cocktail, fresh squeezed blood orange (or regular orange) juice, and lemon juice. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.
  5. Chill the Beverage: Refrigerate the mixture until it is thoroughly chilled, about 2 hours.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Before serving, garnish with orange slices. For added festive flair, insert whole cloves into orange slices and add cinnamon sticks if desired. Serve the Witches Brew over ice for a refreshing experience.

Notes

  • Use organic ingredients whenever possible to enhance flavor and quality.
  • Whole cloves can pose a choking hazard to young children; omit cloves if serving to them.
  • Cloves can be neatly stuck into orange slices for garnish to add aroma and visual appeal.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator; the drink will keep well for 3-5 days.
