Ingredients

Scale

Fruit

  • 1 fresh Bartlett or other pear, cut in half lengthwise
  • 1/2 pound fresh strawberries, cut in half with stems removed
  • 6 oz. fresh blueberries
  • 2 small oranges, sliced and halved
  • 3 kiwi, sliced
  • 1 kiwi, cut into wedges

Decorations

  • 2 mini candy eyes
  • 1 piece of candy corn
  • 1 small sliver of strawberry for the snood
  • 4 matchstick-sized pretzel sticks
  • 1 1/2 cups pretzel snaps or pretzel sticks
  • 1 Tbsp. white melting chocolates or white icing

Instructions

  1. Arrange the Pear: Place the pear halves in the middle of the serving tray towards the bottom, creating a centered base that leaves ample room on top for the other fruits.
  2. Add Larger Fruits: Begin by arranging the larger fruit slices such as the orange halves and kiwi slices around the pear in a semi-circular pattern to form the turkey’s body and feathers.
  3. Add Smaller Fruits: Fill in the top section with smaller fruits like the halved strawberries and blueberries to complete the feather design and add vibrant color.
  4. Create the Turkey Face: Attach the two mini candy eyes, placing them centered near the top of the pear. Use melted white chocolate or icing as adhesive. Attach the candy corn as the turkey’s beak and a small strawberry sliver as the snood, securing them similarly.
  5. Add Wings and Legs: Place the kiwi wedges on the sides of the pear to represent wings. Use the matchstick pretzel sticks for legs, adding a dab of icing or melted chocolate underneath to keep them stable. Break pretzel pieces into small sections to form the feet and attach them accordingly.
  6. Finish with Pretzels: Scatter pretzel snaps or additional pretzel sticks at the bottom of the tray around the pear to complete the turkey’s body base and add texture.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Your colorful and fun turkey fruit platter is ready to serve for an eye-catching, healthy snack or party centerpiece.

Notes

  • Use a typical pear shape like Bartlett for best appearance and stability.
  • White melting chocolate or icing helps secure small decorations effectively.
  • Pretzel snaps add crunch and aesthetic around the platter base but can be substituted with other pretzel types.
  • Ensure fruit is fresh and dry to help decorations stick better.
  • This platter is perfect for Thanksgiving or fall-themed celebrations.
