Base
- 36 Oreo cookies
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
Coating & Decoration
- 2 cups melting chocolate wafers
- 1/2 cup white chocolate
- Sprinkles for decoration
- Prepare Oreo Crumbs: Place Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs to ensure a smooth truffle texture.
- Mix with Cream Cheese: Transfer the cookie crumbs to a bowl and add softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until well combined and a uniform dough forms.
- Mold the Hearts: Scoop the mixture evenly into heart-shaped molds. Press flat and smooth using a spatula. Freeze for 25-30 minutes or until the mixture firms up.
- Melt Chocolate Wafers: Melt the chocolate wafers in 30-second bursts in the microwave, stirring between intervals until smooth and fully melted, following package directions.
- Coat the Truffles: Remove the firm heart-shaped Oreo mixture from the molds. Dip each heart into the melted chocolate, tapping to remove excess chocolate. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Set the Chocolate: Refrigerate the coated truffles for about 5 minutes to allow the chocolate coating to set firmly.
- Decorate: Melt the white chocolate and transfer it to a piping bag. Drizzle the white chocolate over the truffles and immediately add sprinkles for a festive touch.
- Store: Keep the finished truffles refrigerated until ready to serve to maintain their shape and freshness.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing and a smoother texture.
- Use a heart-shaped mold for uniform shapes or roll into balls if a mold is not available.
- To prevent melting, handle the truffles with cool hands or use gloves during coating.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- For a different flavor, swap the Oreo cookies with other flavored sandwich cookies.
