Brownie Batter

  • 4 ripe bananas (about 450–480g peeled)
  • ⅓ cup (35 g) cocoa powder
  • ⅔ cup (167 g) natural peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8-inch (20 cm) square pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides to allow easy removal of the brownies after baking.
  2. Blend the batter: Place the peeled bananas in a food processor and blend until completely smooth. Add the cocoa powder and natural peanut butter, then blend again until the mixture forms a thick and smooth batter.
  3. Optional sweetness: Taste the batter. If you prefer your brownies sweeter, add your choice of sweetener (such as maple syrup or agave) at this stage and blend briefly to combine.
  4. Bake: Evenly spread the batter into the prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
  5. Cool & slice: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Using the parchment overhang, lift the brownies out of the pan, then cut into squares. For an improved texture, let the brownies cool completely before serving.
