These Air Fryer Pizza Rolls are a quick and delicious snack featuring gooey mozzarella cheese, zesty pepperoni, and Italian seasoning all wrapped in crispy golden dough. Perfect for a fun appetizer or a satisfying snack, these pizza rolls are easy to make with store-bought or homemade dough and cook to perfection in the air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pizza Rolls

  • Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade) – enough to cut into 3×3 inch squares
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Pinch of salt
  • Olive oil (for spraying)

For Serving

  • Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Gather Ingredients: Collect all the necessary ingredients including pizza dough, shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, Italian seasoning, salt, olive oil, and marinara sauce for dipping.
  2. Prepare the Dough: If using store-bought dough, let it come to room temperature for 20 minutes for easier handling. If using homemade dough, roll it out to an even thickness suitable for cutting.
  3. Cut Dough Squares: Cut the rolled-out dough into 3×3 inch squares to create individual pizza rolls.
  4. Fill the Rolls: Place a portion of shredded mozzarella cheese, several pepperoni slices, a sprinkle of Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt into the center of each dough square.
  5. Seal the Rolls: Fold the dough squares over the filling to form a pocket and crimp the edges firmly to seal in the ingredients and prevent leakage during cooking.
  6. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes to ensure even cooking temperature.
  7. Arrange Rolls in Basket: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the sealed pizza rolls in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding to allow proper air circulation.
  8. Cook the Rolls: Air fry the pizza rolls for 8-10 minutes, shaking or turning the basket halfway through to ensure they cook evenly and develop a crispy exterior.
  9. Cool and Serve: Let the pizza rolls cool slightly to avoid burning, then serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Feel free to experiment with fillings like bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, or different cheeses to customize your pizza rolls.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary to ensure even crisping.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
  • Reheat leftover pizza rolls in the air fryer to regain their crispiness rather than using a microwave.
