Ingredients

Scale

Jello Cubes

  • 4 different flavors of jello (one 3 oz package each)
  • 4 cups boiling water (1 cup per jello flavor)

Gelatine Mixture

  • 3 tablespoons gelatine powder
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare Flavored Jello: Dissolve each of the four jello flavors separately in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir well to completely dissolve the gelatin powder in each.
  2. Chill Jello: Pour each prepared jello into separate containers and refrigerate for about 1 hour or until fully set.
  3. Dissolve Gelatine Powder: In a small bowl, dissolve 3 tablespoons of gelatine powder in 1/4 cup cold water. Once fully dissolved, add 1 cup of hot water and the 14 oz can of condensed milk, stirring continuously until fully combined.
  4. Cube Set Jello: Remove the set jello from the fridge and cut into small cubes of roughly uniform size for an attractive mosaic effect.
  5. Assemble the Dessert: Place the jello cubes randomly into a rectangular or similar serving dish to create a scattered colorful base.
  6. Pour Condensed Milk Mixture: Gently pour the condensed milk and gelatine mixture over the jello cubes, making sure to cover them evenly.
  7. Chill to Set: Return the dish to the fridge and chill for 1 to 2 hours or until the mixture is completely firm and set.
  8. Serve: When ready, cut the broken glass jello into cubes with a sharp knife and serve immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Use different flavors and colors of jello to create the classic stained glass effect.
  • Be sure to let each flavor fully set before cutting to avoid mixing colors.
  • Chill the dessert long enough so the condensed milk mixture firms up properly and holds the jello cubes together.
  • Serve chilled for the best refreshing taste and texture.
  • Can be made a day in advance and kept refrigerated in an airtight container.
