Ingredients

Scale

Salmon and Seasoning

  • 4 fillets salmon (6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (adjust to spice preference)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Avocado Lime Sauce

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s at the right temperature for perfectly baked salmon.
  2. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent the salmon from sticking.
  3. Make Cajun Oil Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly to blend all the spices with the oil.
  4. Season Salmon: Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush both sides of each fillet with the Cajun oil mixture to coat evenly.
  5. Bake Salmon: Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Prepare Avocado Lime Sauce: While the salmon bakes, mash the avocado in a mixing bowl until smooth. Add lime juice, Greek yogurt or sour cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Whisk all ingredients until creamy and well combined.
  7. Rest Salmon: Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to settle.
  8. Serve: Serve the baked Cajun salmon with a generous drizzle of the avocado lime sauce on top. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro if desired for an added burst of flavor and color.

  • Adjust the Cajun seasoning according to your preferred spice level.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with rice, quinoa, or a fresh green salad for a balanced meal.
