Tips & Variations

  • Add extra heat by including more jalapeños or a dash of cayenne pepper.

Storage

Store leftover chili in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave until warmed through. This chili also freezes well—freeze in portions for up to 3 months and thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.

How to Serve

A bowl of hearty chili sits in the center, filled with a thick mix of cooked ground meat, diced red and green bell peppers, and tomato chunks, creating a rich brown and red base. On top, there is a dollop of white sour cream, thin strands of yellow shredded cheese, and several bright green jalapeño slices placed neatly on one side. The bowl is white with a black outer rim, placed on a white plate with a black center, which rests on a white marbled surface. Next to the bowl are two yellow corn tortilla chips and a spoon with a wooden handle lying on the plate. Nearby, there is a small white bowl holding more shredded yellow cheese and a metal cup filled with a bright yellow beverage.
